Taishou Hanana

The food is great but the wait is very very long. The reason why the wait is long is because there is not enough staff to bus table or serve the tabl. They have left at least 4 tables empty for over 15 minutes while I was eating. They should hire more staff to reduce the wait time.

It was definitely the best meal I had in Kyoto area. We saw the place on the way from the bamboo park to the monkey forest and decided to give it a try. We waited in a long queue for around 45 minutes but it was absolutely worth it. They have different options of set menus and they serve you a complimentary green tea upon ordering. The food was so delicate, delicious and generous. The atmosphere is very peaceful and pleasant.

Traditional Japanese Cuisine and it definitely gives that atmosphere of one as well. The chazuke set was amazing especially if you love sashimi. They also offer a grilled mackerel if sashimi is not your preference.
